Carpet Water Damage Insurance Help in Amherst, VA

Carpet water damage insurance help means giving your adjuster what they need to process the claim. We are not your insurer and we cannot promise what a policy covers. What we can do is document the carpet water damage restoration work properly, so there is less back and forth.

Amherst, VA Wet Carpet Drying starts documenting in Amherst, VA the moment we arrive. We photograph the wet area before we touch it. We take moisture meter readings and mark them on a simple floor sketch. We note the source of the water and the IICRC S500 water category, because adjusters ask about both.

During wet carpet drying, we log readings every day until the carpet, pad area and subfloor are dry. We record the equipment used, how many air movers and dehumidifiers, and how many days they ran. If the pad is removed, we note its type and square footage. If carpet cannot be saved, we photograph the reason, like delamination or Category 3 contamination.

Most homeowner policies separate sudden leaks from long slow ones and from outside flooding. Read your policy or call your agent to know where you stand. Then send them our records.
